GB7JB is the proposed NEW 70cm DMR digital voice repeater to be co-sited with GB3JB the 2m analogue voice repeater, at Willoughby Hedge, south Wiltshire.
The anticipated mobile coverage is perceived to be similar to the ETCC projected coverage map, shown below.
However, the ETCC map assumes unity gain antennas on the vehicle.
As will be appreciated, most amateurs have dual band VHF/UHF antennas associated with their 2m and 70cm mobile installations.
These antennas typically have significantly more gain on 70cm, than unity.
Coverage for fixed home based stations is anticipated to encompass most of central and parts of North Wiltshire, parts of Southern Dorset and West Hampshire, plus parts of North and West Somerset.
At this time, it is anticipated that like GB3JB, GB7JB will be funded solely by donations, from its users and supporters.

The South Dorset Repeater Group, have also made an application to establish a 70cm Digital Voice DMR repeater, GB7SD.
It is highly likely that these two project will progress at about the same speed through the system, and that the individuals involved with each project will be working very closely with each other.
